In 2025, Tusome Africa reaffirmed its commitment to advancing early childhood education and foundational literacy in Uganda, recording meaningful progress despite a challenging operating environment. Through strategic investments in community- and school-based early childhood education (ECE) centres, library refurbishment, book distribution, routine field monitoring, and strengthened collaboration with district education offices, the organisation expanded access to safe, inclusive, and high-quality learning environments for young learners.

December 2024

Tusome Africa’s 2024 report highlights growth in education programmes, expanding from Iganga to Wakiso, establishing ECE centres, and training paraeducators to improve access for marginalized children. Governance, staffing, and professional development were also strengthened.

The organisation advanced literacy through community libraries and partnerships, supported by successful fundraising efforts. Overall, it shows improved access to education, stronger community involvement, and continued plans to expand impact.

Tusome Africa’s 2023 Annual Report reflects the organization’s growing impact in transforming education opportunities for underserved children across Uganda. Throughout the year, Tusome Africa expanded its outreach into Wakiso District while strengthening its early childhood education programmes in Iganga and Bugweri, reaching hundreds of children through both community and school-based learning initiatives.

The organization also invested in empowering teachers and paraeducators through continuous training, learning resources, and community support systems aimed at improving the quality of education and creating sustainable change.

The report showcases achievements in early childhood education, community-based learning, teacher and paraeducator training, literacy development, and educational assessments.

During the year, Tusome Africa expanded its programmes into new communities, supported hundreds of children through school and community learning initiatives, and strengthened partnerships with parents, schools, and local leaders. The organization also introduced data-driven assessment programmes to improve learning outcomes and educational planning.
